- Try to talk to other parents about their experiences and the role they have as a father. Friends and family members are a good place to start but there are other options too.
- Remember to share how you feel with your wife or partner. If you are anxious, excited or happy let them know. The closer the two of you are, the easier it will be to share the experience of pregnancy, birth and parenthood.
- Think about the type of parent you want to be. You might have ideas based on your own experiences or those of friends and family. Sometimes that might mean following the example of someone you respect or sometimes it might mean doing things differently.
