National services

Most parents need a bit of extra help from time to time and in this section you'll find details of some organisations that may provide helpful advice, support, counseling or just information. The list is not comprehensive. Your midwife, health visitor, family nurse, GP or public library can also help you find the best support to suit the needs of you and your family.

If you are ill and it can’t wait until your regular NHS service reopens, call NHS 24 free on 111.Lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or visit the NHS 24 website.

If you’re well, but have a question about your health or local NHS services, please contact the NHS inform helpline on 0800 22 44 88 or visit the NHS inform website.
